    14mm Spectra webbing from Yatesgear.com

I finally got my 1ft sample of 14mm spectra webbing from

    http://www.yatesgear.com/climbing/slings/index.htm

I think that it is too small and may hurt trees if you try to use it like webbing, and even though I have not been able to weigh it yet, it feels a lot heavier than my 1" nylon webbing, and is twice as thick. Here are some pics next to my nylon webbing (I know that nylon stretches more than ploypro, but I really cannot tell that much of difference.)

What's the cost and the breaking strength on the webbing? It does look kinda small.

Do you mean that you can't tell a difference by looking at them, or by the amount of stretch that each has?

This spectra webbing has a breaking strength of something close to 4000 lbs. We where talking about it on another thread. The big advantage is it does not stretch. It should act similar to the spectra line that everyone uses.

    The Price is $.85/ft

And I thought that my nylon webbing didn't stretch much, but after hanging all this week at camp I think I will go back to my polypro.

I will give that this spectra is thin, but it is tuff stuff.

    spectra

depending on the blend/weave of nylon and dyneema/spectra that they use...
it should have almost NO stretch. the strength of the material is a non-issue

I am thinking tree-hugger/suspension/ridgeline, all 1 continuous piece, with rings to adjust length ...
