Do you think they would hold when frozen?

I didn't lay in hammock so I don't know. I left hammock up so they will probably be refrozen today. I'll check and let you know. My guess is yes since they froze when constricted.
Edit: Went out this morning and they weren't frozen so couldn't check. Must have dried out in wind yesterday.

I had UCRs tensioning my tarp through 2 days of rain, sleet, +10" of snow and they held up like champs. I was able to adjust with little or no effort.

Thanks for the testing. I have been considering woopies for the HH my son uses. If these things work as well as everyone says, I'll put them on my BB too. I'm tired of tying HH cord and not being able to adjust quickly. It would also make it easier for my son to hang his own hammock without supervision.
At our New Years Eve hang my whoopie slings froze up again. When my fingers are cold and my feet are freezing, snow coming down fast, the last thing I want to do is use my hands to melt the slings. I'm going back to webbing for winter hanging.

Thanks for the update, HC... we were considering switching to whoopie slings, but now you've got me questioning the wisdom of that move.
I know this isn't the Hennessey forums, but I believe something like SnakeSkins could prevent any suspension system from becoming frozen.
I had a minor issue last night with the slings acting like they were frozen. Very little precipitation but I left it up all day. It was frozen for a couple inches down from the eye. I am not going to change out but would consider putting rings on the sling and pulling it up short. I could use webbing in these temps this way.
couple nights ago on Springer I woke up to whoopies coated in ice....thought for a millisecond that teak down might be a pain...then I pulled the dowells out of the marlin spike hitch and I was on my way. So they held and pulling the toggles solved the issue every so sweetly.
