Since I just started hammocking this year (Thanks all!) I'd have to say:
1- ALL my hammock gear, and all of it was bought here. Either off the classifieds or thru sponsoring vendors.
2- Osprey Exos 46. I REALLY like this pack.
3- Good clothing. I started buying better clothes this year. I can't believe what a difference GOOD clothing, socks, jackets, raingear, head gear, etc makes.

Since I discoverd this place, known as Hammock Forums, My camping and kayaking budget started to inflate at an enormus rate,,,, I sleep with at least one of my hammocks more than I do the GF.

I finally came out of the closet, and am proud to be an Owner / Operator of a SEWING MACHINE,,,,,

I guess for me, my ,,
    DIY DD weather skin,
and my DIY "Hammock Range Bag" makes me feel good...

Knowledge is key to successful hiking and camping. By far the best piece of equipment is this forum. OG beat me to it, but that was my first thought for '09 equip. And the understanding wife, soundwitness beat me that one, too. Learning all the diy tricks is addictive and fun.
All the great folks here, are up high on the list, too.

    Equipment List: '09

    Countless suspensions
    Six stoves
    Sleeping bag mod

I'd add the MacCat Standard on there, but it's not technically '09 b/c I've had it for several years now. I don't need no stinkin' doors!

The other stuff I listed I got from Dec 08 and later.

    hmmm . . . . just 3 ?

    1) WBBB Double 1.7 . . . no brainer
    2) Superfly. . . my girls just love the "floating tent"
    3) 3 Season Yeti w/ reflective liner . . . been toasty so far.

Since getting into this hammock kick, my tent has been feeling a bit lonely. I think it may try to audition for a commercial just like the mop did .
