    Again, just 3? That's tough!

    1:MWUQ4
2:BMBH, especially in combo with #1
3:MMP ( I just can't do only 3: tied for 3, WB Yeti like CS torso quilt, only ~9 oz with just 1 layer used and good well into the 50s plus resistant to moisture/condensation)

There's still more, but that is 3 with a tie for 3rd. Though not really, it's 3 but not in amy particular order, it's all great gear.

Second runner up: replacing my under quilt with WB Yeti

Third runner up: Equinox rain poncho saved my trip during the hike into the Linville Gorge. Thanks again Millergear!

    1) Whoopies (can't believe nobody has mentioned them yet)
    2) Feathered Friends down booties
    3) Warbonnet Traveler (the hammock I now go to the most)
    4) ULA Circuit (the perfect mid size pack in my opinion)
    5) Te-wa 2/3 underquilt (best UL answer out there for 3 season hanging)
    6) JRB MW4 (Ohhhh so toasty and fuss free when the temps plummet)
    7) Montbell down inner jacket (so much warmth and less weight than a t-shirt)

Hmmm... only 3? I would shorten the list to 1) 5) and 7)

My campy best gear comment would be the knowledge I've learned about ultralight/light backpacking, hammocking, ultralight stoves, hammocking, and DIY gear in general; however, the question specifically asks about gear.

#1 Minibulldesign pots - the foster and the heine pot
    #2 alcohol stoves
#3 columbia zip leg pants - they dry super fast, they are light, and breathe great
#4 desiitin - prevent the chafe
    #5 pot cozies
    #6 head lamps
#7 99 cent disposable box cutters as a knife
#8 brawny re-useable towels - super ultra light

    1) Ex-Officio Boxers. I bought a pair for outdoor use and loved them so much I replaced every pair I own with them.

    2) Food dehydrator. I've never eaten a mountain house meal, and I hopefully never will. Though some of them I have tried are good.

    3) Exped Wallcreeper. I love this sleeping bag. It's so versatile and is amazing whether you're hanging, or a pretty lady convinces you the tent is a good place to sleep for the night >.>

    1. Nimbus Meridian pack
    2. Lafuma 30* down sleeping bag
    3. DIY Heineken pot and alcohol stove setup

An honorable mention would be the Speer Winter Tarp I'm getting for X-mas. I didn't put it because I don't technically have it yet.

I am looking forward to lots of projects this year as winter sets in. I have really enjoyed making my own gear. I get exactly what I want, and if it isn't I can change it. So, bring on 2010!!
