    Melting Snow

I guess the right thing to do would have been to use my Heineken Pot or Keith's Foster Pot to melt the snow by the fire. I bet they would have held up better than a plastic bottle!

Or is there a better way?

I'm guessing that you could have brought along a heavier titanium pot to melt water in over the fire and still come out ahead due to less fuel consumption? Anyhow, awesome trip and pics. I'm very jealous!

Nice Pics. Especially like the "HoarFrost" what? Sure is pretty for such a dirty sounding name. I also love the way the white blaze on the tree looks in winter, very nice

    Man!!! I am sooo.... envious!

I want Mt. Rogers to be like that! I love the pics of the "Hoarfrost".

If you want to do another AT hike like that this winter, let me know and I'll see if I can make it.

I've been itching for some snow here in WNC, it kills me that my sister has 3 ft. in her front yard in upstate NY.

This being a family friendly forum perhaps we should refer to it as "Frost of loose morals"

I think it is a silly idea, but he seems to like it :-)

I actually think that's a pretty cool idea. Two thumbs up

I have found out that unless I cover the fuel canister it tends to freeze over, so I use the alcohol stove and don't have to worry about pressurized cans. I do like hiking in the snow. It changes everything.
