    Inexpensive Long Underquilt

I'm looking for a 3 season underquilt that covers more than just a small portion of the underside of the hammock. The cheapest I've seen is the ENO Ember 2 Underquilt. Would that be a decent purchase? Or are there better ones out there for around that price range?

You're definitely looking in the wrong places if the Ember 2 came up; it's only rated to 50* F and not well-reviewed. As Shug mentioned, the Jarbidge is well respected, weighs 20 oz., is good down to 25 *F for most folks, and costs $100.

Mirroring what Silvrsurfr said, there are much better options out there.

The Jarbidge by Arrowhead Equipment is very well known and respected here on the forums. It will outperform the ENO handily.

Loco Libre gear, another cottage vendor that is frequent on the forums has recently started a synthetic line of quilts recently. Plenty of options to customize every detail how you would like and what would work best for you. I don't have any experience with his synthetic line, but the down quilts of his I own are phenomenal.

Thanks for the mentions Gents. Always appreciated.

If you want full length then the New River would be suitable more so than the Jarbidge. Made in the USA, with all made in the USA fabrics, insulation, and hardware.

Shug recommended the Jarbidge to me via Youtube conversation. I've been sleeping warmly and snuggly in it ever since. Great value!

Snugpak Underblanket, full length about 32 deg limit, $50

Yukon Kindle, full length ENO ember 2 clone, good to maybe 40 degrees, $80, or sometimes on sale at woot for $50

Arrowhead Equipment Jarbidge, custom made, 3/4 length, good to 25 degrees, $100

Loco Libre Cayenne Pepper, can choose custom length from 3/4 to long length, can choose from 40-25 degree temp. $110-$160 depending on options.

Enlightened Equipment prospect. Different lengths, can choose from 50 to 20 deg temp ratings, 3/4 to long length choices $140-$180.

Arrowhead Equipment New River, short regular and long models, can choose from 40 deg, 25 deg, or near 0 degree. $145-$210 depending on options.

Above $200 there are many down filled options.

Every day is a good day.

I'm not experienced by any means, but I've really enjoyed using my PLUQ. The no-sew version works just fine. I'm about to sew the pleats in the ends of mine. That should make it even better.

Is a very easy project and I think very usable down below 50* (barely)

I will throw in another recommendation for the Arrowhead New River. It's a very, very nice piece of equipment.
