It is 3.2 miles on the I&M west from channahan 200 yards west of the bridge that takes you into McKinley off the trail.... it is on the left hand side... It will look like the path Vears off to the left which will take you back into a little opening... you will see the little three wall shelter and then it opens up into a big area The river Will be right in front of you.. to the right of the shelter is the bathroomOriginally Posted by Karla "with a k"

When you pull into the parking lot of the park there's a Metzel pole building right in the same location of the parking lot you could either go over there and knock on the door and see if the Rangers there or just go to the campsite he usually shows up in the morning
Trialz what time do you think you're gonna be there? I might show up myself... probably be early in the morning if not Friday night
I'm guessing between 4 and 5pm on Saturday. On Sunday, I plan on leaving early-ish — around 8:45am or so to catch a train home. Hopefully I can stay longer another time.
BTW, I believe joedotcom (sorry if I'm getting the name wrong) uploaded this helpful map in the past. Hopefully he won't mind if I repost for everyone else's benefit (thanks joedotcom!).

I'm in! I'll be there. I'll arrive Friday afternoon and take off Sunday morning. Woo-Hoo! I'm bringing my new hammock - first time I'll be sleeping in it. I'll could probably use some help with my tarp set up since I've never done that part before. I'm bringing those HUGE marshmallows for roasting too.
That's great news "with a k"! I just walked the dog, and noticed Saturday will be a full moon. Does it get any better? See you there on Saturday evening. Have a good hang in the meantime.

A quick word of thanks to Gallo & Trailz for making this experience so special for me. I'm super glad you both came out this weekend. Trailz - it was great to meet you - thank you for getting the ball rolling on planning this and explaining your neat-o bike set up to me.
And a uber huge shout out to Gallo for the incredible dinner and dessert and especially the tarp and set up. You are now my hammock mentor!
I can't wait to hang with guys again!
