    White Blaze and Max Patch!

Had a great trip with some very good friends this weekend! Started the AT at I-40 in TN and hiked to Max Patch Mountain! Two nights of Hanging in the orange dream (that's my Hammock made by Ospreydog) and three days of hanging with the best friends in the world! Even got to have breakfast at the Hot Springs Cafe. What a great weekend! Can't wait to see this place again in the fall!

Looks like an adventure for sure. How did you like that never ending hill? I always scoffed at my elders saying they walked up hill both ways in the snow to school. Well the AT is proof that the old saying is not only possible but true! I prefer my crow fried instead of grilled.
Remember--Some People are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Some people can paint the Sistine chapel, some people can finger-paint, and some people just eat the Crayons....

The hill, the hills, the mountain! That was a tough hill! I made that comment several times that it was uphill both ways. I also quit thinking and saying we were at the top of any mountain. Lol. Thanks for the comment. It was a fun trip for sure! See ya on the trail.

I don't really have the desire to redo most hikes because there's always something new to explore. That being said, our trip from I40 through max patch, to Hot Springs was one of my favorites and I'd definitely do it again next fall. Views from max patch were fantastic and the sunset from Walnut Mountain while eating fresh apples off the tree was one of my favorite nights, ever! That's a great hike. Looks like you had fun!

Thanks! I'm not sure I would redo I40 to Max Patch (in fact, I know I won't - that's a tough hike), but I plan to go back this fall and spent the night again at Max Patch before going on to Hot Springs!

Planning this section in a couple of weeks. I would like to camp at Max Patch the first night and star gaze if the weather participates. Is there anywhere to hang a hammock on Max Patch?
