I had this same thought as a new hammock camper. I wondered about light tarp letting light in, or dark tarp to keep light out in certain situations.
I tend to look at it like SilvrSurfr, in that when I am asleep, it will not matter what color it is.
I went with a UGQ Winter Dream in olive brown, and think it is a GREAT tarp.

Yep, I've got the blaze orange tarp on my wish list for hunting season. The rest of the season I like to blend. I have olive green and camo. I also wouldn't mind a winter tarp in white.
