Bad freezing from breath condensation!

Maybe Pan will chime in here. He has used some type of face mask/balaclava that really did great at preventing that breath condensation.

I've got the balaclava from Psolar. Pan does use one of their product as well.

They perform as advertised but one thing they don't mention is that it takes a little extra effort to breath through the heat exchanger. It's kind of freaky and I worry that I'll wake up dead from suffocation.

From the Psolar web site:
The Patent Pending mask features a QXtec module that is made of desiccant coated plastic. The desiccant grabs the moisture from the air, forcing a phase change from vapor to liquid. This phase change releases heat that is added to the natural heat of exhalation, warming the plastic. This warmth is transferred to the air as it is inhaled - creating a warm “breath of sunshine.”

The heat exchanger is up to 80% efficient, meaning that at 0 Degrees, your inhaled breath can be warmed to over 75 Degrees before it enters your body! Efficiencies vary with respiratory rates and lung capacity.

In the tropics we get condensation due to the high humidity (even when its not raining). Even more so when its pouring with rain. The only time it gets onto the hammock is when the tarp blows against the hammock (solved by retensioning the fly) or drips down on to the mozzy netting then onto my hammock. I eventually put a towel on top of my mozzy net to stop the drips.

take a small piece of cloth, 100% cotton and hang it right above you, where the moisture will rise, this will grab most of it and then you just shake it out.
