Oh man what a fall. Shout out to the rescue teams. Good job in those conditions.
I'd like to send hopes for a speedy recovery to Carolinabackpacker.
I am extremely impressed with all of you. I would hike with you guys anytime.
The pilot and crew of that Blackhawk are the tops. Flying near a hillside like that in high winds can drop the air pressure right out from under a plane or helo.
Well done.
Feels good to tip my hat to you all.
Get well soon CB. If you can heal enough make it to the parking lot of the fish hatchery in July, I'll carry you up to the John Rock hang. You couldn't be any heavier than Michelle's cooler last year!

Good thing he was hiking with others there. Imagine what could have happen if he had been hiking by himself
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Just saw the vid on YouTube last night. You guys did a great job with first aid and managing the situation as best you could while the rescue came in. Prayers for Jeremy's physical recovery, and for everyones mental recovery, too. What a trooper. I can't imagine laying on the side of a mountain all busted up for hours. Or watching a friend log roll off a cliff for that matter. I guess you just do what you gotta do when you gotta do it. At least he wasn't alone. Thank goodness for the SAR crew and a good pilot who could handle those winds. Treacherous day.
WOW what a video Shug. I'm glad everything worked out. That sure is one way to GET TO THA CHOPPA!!
Hard to see how anyone could survive a fall like that. One very lucky man!!!
