I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

There is something I must put out there…
It may seem to some I come across too jokingly or nonchalant when talking about my fall. I can promise you that it is not lost on me the gravity of the incident or how blessed and fortunate I am to not only be here today, but also, considering the magnitude of the incident, that I was not hurt much more seriously! The fact is I Lived and I will not dwell on the negatives from the accident, but rather take the positives, learn and grow as a person from them.
This is my personality. I at heart am jokester and tend to look on the bright side of most things. I also firmly believe that attitude is everything, especially in situations such as this. I have a long road yet to recovery, but that’s just the thing, I will recover. I’ve thought a lot about that day in the last couple weeks. Believe it or not, even in such a precarious situation, I feel that I and my hiking partners actually managed to have a little fun in the hours waiting on the rescue. The laughs helped keep me calm. Yea I was hurting but there for me the whole way through.
Although I still feel bad those guys had to experience that scare because of me. I'm DAMNED THANKFUL they were there for me. No words can express my gratitude for what Hickery, Shug, Kenny, Rick, and Brett did for me that day! This also goes for the 1st responders, Crew of the Blackhawk, and the entire Medical Team that assisted me at Mission Hospital.I know I would not be here if it were not for you all!

Dang it start joking again. Making my eyes well up

We need to name that path you cut with your body in remembrance for what can happen. And no one cut the same path with their body!
