Stainless mora gets used for all cords & rope, over time I've gotten a nice convex edge on it which strops up quick for a whole batch of cutting. Cuts amsteel like its fresh asparagus

Another vote for ceramic knife! I work with various diameters of Spectra and the ceramic knife has proven to be the easiest and longest lasting option.
In the kite world just about everything is hot-cut. I use a DREMEL VersaTip , particularly for rip-stop and polyester.
If you're not having fun - you're doing it wrong.
For me - a regularly-sharpened knife. But I like the idea of box cutting blades that others are mentioning. Definitely nice not to have to sharpen a knife so regularly!

I recently discovered how well ceramic works. Harbor Freight sells a paring knife for $8 that is the bees knees.

My newest favorite. I bought a pair of these shears back in March of this year. They're not cheap, but I've not regretted it. Can't be beat for cutting kevlar webbing and makes child's play of snipping strand bundles for tapering. As an added bonus, no need for a cutting board. Pretty much I use it for everything (suspension-wise) that a hot knife wouldn't be better for.
Rotary cutter on a cutting mat works for me

I splice hundreds of products monthly and there is nothing better out there than these: https://www.amazon.com/Clauss-18074-...evlar+scissors.
I have tried ceramic knives, fixed blade knives, multiple types of shears. These cut through UHMWPE fibers like nothing and make tapering etc. MUCH more convenient.
These are excellent. Been using them since Carter turned me on to them.
Lot's of options if you're doing a few pieces here or there... but if you're doing any kind of volume these are way better. I sharpened my regular scissors several times cutting session, these I haven't sharpened once.
I've cut roughly a dozen 600' spools of 7/64" and 1/8" with these.
PS- I have beer for you... just need to get around to packing it up to send.
