Tarp auto tensioners new way

Well there are a lot of ways of making the auto tensioners with shock cord in the tarp lines, but i wanted a removable neater way.

Came up with this, one loop one end to larks head onto tarp tieout, loop the other end for cleat of your choice, or just a plain loop to connect to another cord.

Using double dragon knots, trapping the shock cord in the double wraps of the dragon knots, then stopper knots on end of shock cords.

It makes it very easy to set the tension just right, as long or as short as you want, or two shock cords for double tension.

Or, you could cut out the middleman and just mount your cordlock on a loop of shockcord, and larkshead that onto the tarp tieout.

Yes but if the shock cord fails (which is more likley than cord) then its a problem, also the cord helps to prevent the shock cord from overstretching past its limit.

You can also pull out to maximum tension with the cord for a very taught pitch and then if there is any give over time the shock cord takes up the slack.
