The Titan isn't listed on OES any longer. I wonder if he still makes them?

I never saw it, but I always just assumed that it was because I've heard of it on a number of occasions. Perhaps someone who has one might chime in and tell us...

well I have the very first Titan - it was a custom job that Brian did for me - I think he might have mentioned other people that were interested in the Titan but I don't know if there were further sales - since it was a custom job it obviously was not listed on the site when I bought it.

I think he'll be OK with the Deluxe matched to the Expedition model...it's the Jungle model that's too long. I'd double check just to make sure.

It's too bad about the New York thing...I live less than two hours south in Elmira. I'd love to have one made that would be long enough for my Claytor Jungle hammock. It would have to be a "Titan" to cover that bad boy! For shipping, I even have a daughter who lives just over the border in PA.

    Good luck, Miguel

I'm a little confused at why the sales tax thing is such a big deal. Isn't it fairly easy to get listed with the state as a seller and simply collect the tax? I'm in 2-person small business and we collect the tax without problem. I don't do the tax accounting personally, but my partner makes it seem easy to do.

Though Brian certainly has a full plate for the next few years, it would seem that he'll eventually want to do business inside the state of New York. Otherwise, his statespeople will have to look elsewhere for a good tarp and that seems ridiculous when he makes such nice ones right there, relatively locally. Perhaps New York has some ridiculous red tape for sales tax or something I don't know about?

Patiently waiting for my maccat to arrive...

    NY-Tax-Shipping

Brian ships Priority Mail. The person receiving it can simply forward it to the original purchaser in NY without any extra postal charges involved. Just make sure that it's addressed to: Your Name c/o Whoever. This is exactly what my daughter in New Jersey did a couple of weeks ago when the MacCat arrived. I had phoned the post office there to try to divert it before delivery, but they said they had to deliver it first... then it could be reconsigned. Obviously the package cannot be opened or the postal forwarding is voided.

Kank is right - registering, collecting, and paying over the sales tax is not that complex - although it does take some time. If you are not reporting the income from your sales then you might not want to register because it will then require that you start paying income tax on your sales. Of course, income tax evasion is a crime. And mailing goods purchased by a NYS resident to an out of state resident in an attempt to avoid the sales tax is also a crime. Crimes can complicate your life way beyond whatever effort it would have taken to file the quarterly sales tax returns and report the income on your tax return.
