NY to NH, AT Walk About

Trying to start another section on the AT. Planning to leave Bear Mtn area on May 28 and reach Gorham,NH around July 17/18. All based on all the parts and pieces holding together for that long. Big test for the new titanium in the backbone. Dutch would be proud of the parts!!!!

Anyway, if anyone happens to be out and about, you are welcome to tag along for a while. I usually drag along at about 10 miles a day. Don't expect it to be any faster this time as there has been not any mountain practice down here in the flatlands.

Check Trail Journals for progress: www. trailjournals.com/Rockdawg69

    Thanks and keep on hanging.

Have fun! Did Bear Mtn, NY to Kent, CT last June and finished CT and MA just this past two weeks. Got home last night, in fact. Have VT still to do, but have done all of NH. You're in for a treat, a lot of 'em. Some challenging days too, in the Whites.

    Enjoy!

Thanks Rain Man. Saw that you were up here earlier. I just could not get away any sooner. So far, so good. Rain coming Friday and then more next week. Guess I'll get my clothes washed for free - many times.

Alright Rockdawg you have a great trip now.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Thanks Tacoma. Stepping lightly for now. Climbs are busting my rear for a while. Maybe in a couple more weeks I'll get up to the level to enjoy this thing.
Come on over to Grayson Festival this year.

Good luck! I've sectioned some of the NE AT and yes, some gnarly mountains to contend with. I'm sure to be on the trail at some point during your time frame so I'll check your log for location.. Have fun!!
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Okay, it is not OKAY! Rocks have about killed my feet. And I thought I had good shoes. No blisters, just extremely sore soles. Add those to the stinger in my back on second day out and I'm done for now.
Heading home for a rest. Maybe back to VA and MD to catch up that section in September.
Thanks for all your thoughts and wishes.
