what are "mossies" & "meat ants"?

And 'mossie' is just short for mosquito, which I dont think I need to explain.

I think they either made a mistake, couldn't be bothered shipping to Oz or were trying to screw you. I just paid $14 for shipping from the states for an order of no seeum and zippers which would have to weigh more than your snakeskins.

Maybe you should try ordering some silnylon and make your own - they are dead easy. I've ordered it from Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics in the past and they were great - http://www.owfinc.com/. But be careful - you may catch the DIY bug

Another useful Aussie supplier is http://www.ropemelbourne.com.au/ for rope.

I have purchased double braid spectra from them and have just placed an order for 3mm dyneema so I can make some whoopie slings. Prices seem very reasonable and Bryan has been great to deal with.

Anyone got any other good Aussie suppliers of hammock related stuff?

Unless I missed it, I don't believe anyone mentioned the Google map on our home page. It shows the location of all HF members that have put themselves on the map.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Another Sydney hanger, Blue Mountains actually. Welcome! As soon as this stinky hot weather is over, I think a Hammockforums Aussiemeet is in order.
