Hey just wanted to see if anyone had taken a hammock on the six foot track (katoomba to jenolan caves) and if they found adequate trees along the way?

Just a call for any other Aussies who might be interested in purchasing from the Forum Store.
I'm going to purchase some Dutch clips and there is plenty of extra weight to spare in the minimum shipping cost. If you're interested PM me and I'll add it to the order. If we share the US shipping cost I should be able to distribute in Aus for free.
I had to pull the trigger on this purchase with one other Aussie member as the Dutch Clip numbers were dropping a bit quick and I didn't want to miss out, sorry - the quick or the dead...
I did purchase an extra set of Dutch Clips, so if anyone is interested let me know.
G'day hangers, I now sell the 2010 DD hammocks in OZ and soon ill have the Claytor/Mosquito hammocks. I'm also trying to get together a ring and webbing suspension kit for modding both those hammocks too. The kits will be in 50mm or 25mm seatbelt webbing, maybe made to order. And the rings will be smc aluminium descender rings 14Kn. Let me know if thats a good thing to do as the price will be cheaper to you than if you guys brought the rings and straps seperatly. If enough people want the Warbonnet hammock from Brandon i'll get those too.
Thanks

Hey guys I have been looking for an Australian Hiking forum to ask this question but have had no luck finding a forum.
I was wondering if any knows of any natural tinder that can be found in Eastern NSW (mainly Blue Mountains). I have a flintsteel and normally take cottonwool balls and lint but wanted to know if there is anything I could use from the bush?
Dave
yeah mate, dry stringy bark is fantastic tinder make a ball in your hands and give it a run to seperate the fibers a bit and the thing will go up fast. Also the paperbark does the same. Also the old Ray Mears trick with the fungus is a good one but they are a little more rare up the mountains then in England I guess. "BlackBoy bush" or Xanthorhoea is what Wentworth and I have used to make fire by friction. Heaps of fun but heaps of work as well.
Great to see hammocking and traditional bushcraft skills taking off in Oz!
I sometime camp on the border of QLD NSW. I find the drop in temperature at about 3am really gets to me in the hammock. What was comfortable at 11pm becomes unberable.
Hi Cockys, great to see another Aussie hammocker.
