Uncle Sam moving us to Savannah, GA - need hammock info.

I just found out Uncle Sam will be moving us to Savannah, GA later this year. For those of you in the area - can you hit me with the hammock highlights? I was in Augusta not too long ago and did a couple group hangs up at Raven Cliffs. Any info is appreciated!

I can't provide any useful information about hanging in the area, but I can express my huge amount of jealousy. Savannah is an amazing city. Definitely in the top 5 cities in the US I'd most like to live in.

If you are at Ft. Stewart, you are going to drool over the "hang trees" at the main gate!
Five acres of perfectly groomed ground with dozens of perfectly spaced trees... all off limits to hanging!

Yes - headed to Fort Stewart and Savannah. I'm really excited to go. I've heard nothing but good things about the area. I've spent some time in Augusta, GA and I grew up in NW Florida so I'm pretty familiar with the area. Thanks for the input so far!

I just got back from Hunting Island SC - 45 min North of you. The tent sites in loop A are Fantastic for Hammocking. Right next to the beach. A State campground so expect a campground atmosphere - a great place to take the family.

Based upon our recent trip to Savannah, I do have one word of caution for you. It may behoove you to keep a close look on your suspension. Did I mention that the food there is amazing?
