Right inside Ft Stewart is a place called Holbrook pond recreation and camping area. It will be hot this time of year, but worth checking out when it gets cooler.

Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Most all of Georgia's state Parks now allow hammocks. Several good ones along the coast. A word about Savannah, yes it is beautiful. And yes there are some nice places. But it also has become terribly unsafe in some areas...choose where you live wisely.
I would imagine that a kayak will be purchased soon.
Remember--Some People are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
Some people can paint the Sistine chapel, some people can finger-paint, and some people just eat the Crayons....
Fantastic!!
Road trip!!
That's great news. Looking forward to seeing you again at a regional hang.
We plan on living in Richmond Hills. I have heard nothing but good things about the area. Thanks for the heads up!
LOL! YOU KNOW IT! Hammocks and Kayaks go hand in hand!
Absolutely!
I'm pretty excited about the hanging opportunities. There's not much going here in upstate NY. Thanks again for the thread injector...it has definitely gotten some use.
Welcome to the area. Im up in Charleston. Check out the Palmetto State Hangers group. We have 4 main group hangs a year around South Carolina plus some smaller hangs spread throughout the year.
Well if you do the kayak fishing thing, we need to get together and hang and fish.
And you have Fort McAllister right next door. A great place to hang and fish.
Fishing and hanging...I suspect you and I will get along just fine.
Welcome from an old retiree. Just up the road a few miles from RH.
No regional hangs in South GA yet, but there are several in NW FL. And the big one MLK day weekend in North central FL. Suspect you will be sure and have a bug net.
If you do the kayak thing, there is always the Big Swamp at Okefenokee. Do it in February or March before bugs get heavy.
Hooah!
