    New from Maine!

As I was signing up I was getting the distinct feeling this forum is based in Maine, and it is! Anyways, I have borrowed a Hennessy Explorer hammock and used it one night in the yard and will be borrowing it again for a hike in July. We are going to buy three hammocks for the whole family for Christmas I think so we can do some backpacking next year. Probably the Explorer ultralight for me and the expedition for my wife and daughter. Can't want to do some low impact camping!! I found this site while watching that Shug guy on youtube. He's a freaking riot!

    Welcome from OH-IO...

Check into some hangs in your area.. best way to learn is in person and you can see some different setups.

Curlymaple, welcome from Nashville, TN. I've made several trips to Maine, the first in '04. Was there last September and will return this August, hiking sections of the AT. Have gotten as far as Rangeley. Am looking forward to my return to The Pine State, the way life should be.

Thanks all! July I'll be hanging up to Tumbledown Mtn hopefully. Hoping our master hang plan works out and the whole family is hanging next year!! Maine sure has a lot of trees to hang from and many many mtns to climb! We are right near NH too and the White Mtns so lot's more opportunities there as well. Curious about these group hangs y'all speak of. Sounds like fun!

I'm not far from Denmark, ME where this site resides either, so figuring whoever runs it is near me.

Septembers are hard for me! I'll check it out though. Maybe I'll start a Beast Feast Hang in Winthrop, ME in September. Bunch of guys from our church head up to Winthrop for Beast Feast Maine which is an awesome wild game meal run by a Christian guy who has a whole line of BBQ sauces.
