Lightbulb Ridgeline 1.75 DYNEEMA on sale

As I am trying to get some minimal gear to get the ball rolling as a newbie I stumble upon a sale for ridgeline cord:

    1.75 DYNEEMA on sale https://www.treestuff.com/store/cata...196&item=13491

I don't see myself using 150 ft. of this stuff so I am willing to share the love when I get mine.

If somebody knows of a better deal let me know before I order it.

    You could try here http://www.dutchwaregear.com/25-feet-of-zing-it.html

Get some of this http://www.dutchwaregear.com/25-feet-of-amsteel.html while you're there and make some whoopies/UCR's since you're gonna be splicing.

I'd get 50 foot of the Amsteel and make my ridge line and suspension out of that too if I wanted to make it.

Or go to simply light designs and buy them all out of Amsteel for the no waste effect.

Yes, I over do things. Yes, I sleep well knowing it too. God Bless

I burned through 180' pretty quick. At that price, I don't think I would even question if I needed that much or not. I'm ordering one now!

That's funny I came across that stuff this morning and added it to the cart. Didn't pull the trigger though. I went with 2.2mm Lash-it instead just to be safe. Looks like good stuff.

I bought 175' of Zing It thinking it would last me a lifetime, but here I am. Trust me, once you start doing ridgelines for multiple hammocks, ridgelines for multiple tarps, tie outs, continuous loops, soft shackles, etc....let's just say it has a way of getting used. That's a smoking good price, even with the $6 shipping (for me, anyway). It's usually ~$30 for 180' shipping included.

I really like zing-it, but hate melting the ends. You have to be quick. Compared to paracord where it's almost fun it works so well.

Zing-it also fades like crazy. Not a big deal unless your OCD like me. I'm ordering the gray lash-it from now on just because I don't like flashy

This stuff is "silver" so I was tempted.

I never melt the ends - they all get buried in a fixed loop or back splice for a tag end. I wrap a piece of scotch tape around the tag end on the spool, but it probably wouldn't unravel much just sitting there (but I also have some OCD tendencies in that regard).

I don't have time for that, but don't hold me to it. I may eventually start.
