    In Praise of Warbonnet Outdoors!

    Greetings All:

Just wanted to share with you an example of why you should choose a Warbonnet Outdoors product for your next hammock/equipment purchase.

Last summer, I bought a netless WBRR-DL from a member here. With a load rating of 250lbs I was confident that my 225lbs wouldn't challenge the limit. I used it with a down sleeping bag and a thermarest for bottom insulation on a canoe trip last fall. I never slept better.

This spring, just after ice out, we were backcountry by canoe again and in my hammock using the same set-up . On the second night, while getting onto my hammock and into my sleeping bag, one side of the top layer tore away from the side binding, right up at the head end. The bottom layer proved to be a life saver as it kept me from hitting the ground. I lowered the hammock to mere inches from the ground and successfully slept in it that way for the balance of the trip.

When I returned from the trip, I contacted Brandon and Ryan @ Warbonnet with my description of the incident, sent photos of the problem and requested a replacement under their lifetime warranty. They couldn't assess it properly from the pics and asked me to return it to them for inspection.

They were still unable to detect a defect in either the materials or workmanship, but they also acknowledged that my getting into the hammockcouldn't be considered abuse, so they went ahead and replaced it for me. It arrived at my door in Toronto, Canada 4 days later via USPS Global Express Service. Brandon told me to look for it in the mail, but I was expecting weeks instead of days!!! Premium delivery for a warranty replacement.Who does that??? Warbonnet, that's who!!!

When I checked over my replacement, I found that in addition to a meticulously made new RidgeRunner, a new standard suspension has been included, whereas, I had taken mine off when I returned it. I emailed Warbonnet and offered to mail it back. Brandon acknowledged that it ought not to have been sent, but that I should just keep it in the event that my original
should one day wear out. First class I say!

Warbonnet products are skillfully made with top quality materials, and their customer service is second to none. If you are considering purchasing a new hammock, or tarp or ..., I would strongly recommend that Warbonnet Outdoors be tops on your list, they've made a lifetime customer out of me!!!

I'll second that. I "thought" I had an issue with my XLC. They asked for the pictures, walked me through what I was seeing... and low and behold... I was wrong! No issue. But.... they took the time to talk with me.

Good stuff! The top layer of my WBBB 1.1 started pulling away from the bottom. I don't sew at all so I asked him about it. I needed the hammock back for a trip and Brandon returned it within a few days free of change.

Hearing stories like this makes me glad I ordered a RR and CB. I should get my first hang in it this weekend.

+1 to Warbonnet. An amazing group. I live in Colorado and had the opportunity to pick up an order a few years ago in person and talk with Brandon for a few minutes. He's as nice in person as he's is over the phone/email with folks. I continue to recommend them as my preferred bridge hammock or when someone wants a gathered-end with a net. Great products. Great people.
