NC> AT - NOC to Fontana Dam

Anyone interested in doing a car drop and hiking the 29 mile section between NOC and Fontana Dam June 24-26? (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon)

If not, I'll probably look into a shuttle again.

I think I'm setting up a shuttle with the Hike Inn to get this done. Should be a great hike. I have another couple pieces of new equipment to try out on this trip. I have a bunch of food from PackIt Gourmet, should have my new Dutch Half-wit hammock in Hexon 1.6, and I have some cooking equipment from Batchstovez to check out.

The hike itself is going to be tough the first day and a half, then it gets a little easier. The notorious Jacob's Ladder will be early on day 2, so I'll be warmed up, and fresh for it. The first afternoon I have about 7 miles to do, every step of it uphill! I'm looking forward to the hike, and trying out the new food and equipment. Might even make a video this time out. We'll see.

I've never hiked this section before? How scenic is this route? Any highlights?

Yeah! Cheoah Bald is clutch and there is a nice view at Stecoah Gap as well.
