    Panel Pullout Question

Just finished making a 12' x 10' tarp using Xenon Sil 5300. Everything turned out great and I can't wait to test it out. After pitching it I started thinking some panel pullouts would be nice to open up the interior a bit more as well as reduce some of the flapping from wind. I found a few different methods and wondering pros and cons of each and which would be best.

    1. Dutch's Clip on tarp pull out
[I'm not sure how good of a permanent solution they'd be and if it would damage the fabric over time]
    2. Regular sewn on with reinforcement patch
[just means that i have to borrow a sewing machine again]
    3. "Glued" on with silicone (no-sew) similar to this video HERE
[seems too good to be true. How much force it would they take before pealing off?]

I would go with the clips or sewn on pull outs.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I saw a destructive test of the glue on one's and I'm pretty sure it damaged the tarp before it failed.

    ETA, Here it is...

I would have no problem doing the glued on option. I used this method on my silpoly tarp. I like the idea of fewer holes the better. The stitches are from doubling the pullout material and attaching the grosgrain before gluing.
I made the pullouts, applied the sealer to the pullout, placed the pullout on the tarp, covered with some wax paper, and put a heavy flat object on it for 24 hours.
No problems with high wind or with poles over top attached to pullouts.

I was skeptical of the glued on method, but after reading more I think I might try it. I suppose that if it did peel off I could still sew the pullout patch on the same spot. What size patch did you use for your pullouts?

Don't know how I missed this and I am sure you have already taken care of your pullouts but I used a 4" circle when done with the hem around the outside.
