What exactly does a hammock sock do when used with a peapod? Does it cause a condenation problem? What is the hammock sock made of? Does it replace a tarp?

FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

The hammock sock keeps the wind and cold weather from robbing heat from your body. When it is really cold out the hammock sock I use can boost the temperature range up 10 to 20 degrees. That way I can keep my peapod partly open when I sleep and I can ..The hammock sock also can protect your peapod from fog, mist and rain. My hammock sock is made out of 1.7 ripstop. It can sometimes cause a condensation problem if you do not vent the hammock sock properly. I sometimes hang a sponge over my head to absorb the moisture from my breathing. It does not replace a tarp but it keeps some of the cold wind off my peapod.
