Also hello from GA. Welcome to the best place for that info. What kind of camping are you getting into is the first question?

Backcountry trips this summer in GA and a Elk Hunting trip in NW Colorado in November.

There are a ton of very good hammocks available. If you can find a group hand later in the summer/early fall it may help with the decision process. I personally chose the Warbonnet Ridgerunner for it's flatter lie and the ease of attaching the under quilt. There's no adjustments needed with this hammock when it comes to under quilts.

Will this work for a heavier person? I guess I should have said that earlier. I'm 6'1" and 300lbs. Just don't want to spend the money on something and be uncomfortable or not strong enough for my large frame.

Welcome to the forums from the Lake Oconee area. Take a look at the Hennessey hammocks. Some of the Explorer models might suit you. Another option would be a good double layer. See Dutchware, Arrowhead, Dream Hammocks and some of the other terrific cottage vendors. If you search threads here you'll find your question comes up fairly often, so there are gear lists in some of the comments. Without knowing your budget it's hard to be very specific but you are in the right place to ask questions.

Should have said, I'm in Rome, GA. I personally have an ENO Double nest, with the bug net and pro-fly tarp. I've had this setup for several years, and probably have 30-40 nights in it. My oldest son has a Grand Trunk, not sure of the model exactly, but it has a built in bug net, and he uses the ENO pro fly tarp as well. I'm 5'9", about 240 lbs, and I sleep like the dead in my hammock. I will say that when I get ready for a new hammock, I will be looking at a cottage vendor, probably Warbonnet, as I like the looks of the hammocks and tarps they make.
