Last night I hung in my Blackbird for the fifth consecutive weekend. I am having my morning coffee lounging in it now. When I got back in the hammock I put my head in the foot box rather than laying the traditional way and I am surprised how much more comfortable I am. The extra room in the foot box seems to be easing shoulder squeeze and the gear storage shelf is opposite my feet and feels less intrusive.
The bug net is currently tied back and kind of in my face but I expect that will remedy itself with the net zippered. There is a bit if pressure at my feet since I am used to extra space afforded by the foot box. I don't have the unobstructed view since my head is opposite the zipper. Since I have head in the foot end and I pitch the foot end higher I am a little too far down, but all these things considered, I am really REALLY comfortable.
I am going to raise the head end (actually my foot end) and try it like this tonight.
Curious if anyone uses their BB like this?
