    Head in the foot box?

Last night I hung in my Blackbird for the fifth consecutive weekend. I am having my morning coffee lounging in it now. When I got back in the hammock I put my head in the foot box rather than laying the traditional way and I am surprised how much more comfortable I am. The extra room in the foot box seems to be easing shoulder squeeze and the gear storage shelf is opposite my feet and feels less intrusive.

The bug net is currently tied back and kind of in my face but I expect that will remedy itself with the net zippered. There is a bit if pressure at my feet since I am used to extra space afforded by the foot box. I don't have the unobstructed view since my head is opposite the zipper. Since I have head in the foot end and I pitch the foot end higher I am a little too far down, but all these things considered, I am really REALLY comfortable.

I am going to raise the head end (actually my foot end) and try it like this tonight.

Curious if anyone uses their BB like this?

I tried this one night and found it to be essentially the same comfort as being in the hammock in the "normal" way. However, the bug net zipper is more of a challenge.

Points for thinking 'out of the box'.

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Based on where he said he placed his head, that might be thinking inside the box :-)

I just received my BB today. You know I'll have to try this as well.

LOL.... In the box or not I'll try it tonight as an experiment. Maybe it just felt 'different'.

On our first camping trip with our BB's, I went to wake up The Terminator and found she had managed to turn around in her BB. Don't know if she had her head in the footbox. Interesting concept...a head box

This one actually took me a minute. For some reason, I was picturing your head in a QUILT footbox. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why that would be comfortable at all. My wife usually ignores her footbox altogether. She says she enjoys sleeping like a banana.

Maybe the way you had the hammock strung? How did it go?

Yes and since I did not find it any more comfortable, I have not tried it since.
