    Howdy, I had a similar problem. Didn't realize there was a difference. I purchased
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/262488574063...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. Strong but I can't seem to bury the tail with a Brummel knot. Im looking at different ways to use it but it is not as nice as being able to build whoopie slings or other parts of a suspension systems from it.

    Somebody is not on the right thread. I think it's you, OP. As for your dilemma, I say keep it. I've got all sorts of cord that I've spliced, taken apart, experimented with, used, needed, and just burned cuz I thought it looked pretty for the kids. They liked it. Tuck it away somewhere for future use. You're gonna need it.

    Given that 3mm has a breaking strength of 2200lbs, I think you could pull the core and give it a test.
