Planning an AT Hike -- Advice to get to Asheville NC?

    Hey Guys,

I'm planning a hang trip from the AT trailhead in Georgia to somewhere near Hot Springs NC in a couple weeks. Anyone know the best way to get from the trail to Asheville? I can't find any good hiking routes... looks like I may have to follow a major road. Anyone from that area/done that hike got any advice for the best way to get where I'm going? Thanks.

Hitchhike or arrange a shuttle. A 30+ mile road walk doesn't sound like fun. I think those are about your options other than a taxi (Uber??). Maybe call the folks at the hostel in High Springs for some ideas (http://www.laughingheartlodge.com/).

Have you tried the ATC website. They have a list of folks (by state) who do shuttles. It is a little difficult to find as it is buried in one of their sub-pages and shows as a colored link in the text.
Look under "Explore the Trail", then slide over to "Transportations Options", then scroll down until you see link for AT Shuttles.
