Just a general hey - this gear is working for me report from this past weekend.

Well this past weekend Swink1 and myself explored the Mt. Mitchell State Park area. Got in some steep terrain for us. 3700 foot climb in about 7 miles. Explored a couple of other peaks and back down a ROUGH patch of train. Resembled a narrow rocky riverbed.

It was awesome terrain and was very difficult most of the areas. The rest was what I'd call moderately difficult.

    What gear worked?

Edge tarp was plenty of coverage and did not leak

BlackBird was super comfortable and bug netting was a must.

Hammock Gear Pillow is a Must Have!

Hammock gear 20 degree Incubator UQ is the best UQ I have used. Clip in and go. Little adjustment needed and when I roll around in the night my feet don't get chilled and I stay asleep unless I have to pee. With 3/4 length quilts I kicked the pad out from under me and my feet would get chilled. I'd wake up every couple hours if not more.

45 degree Wilderness Logics Summer Series TP was perfect for the temperatures. Didn't over heat me and at a low of 56 or 57 I didn't get chilled in the least.

Pack of course was awesome and you can see my rundown of the pack I use in the backpacking gear section. It is a seekoutside divide pack.

Sounds like a great weekend. Mt Mitchell is no joke. 3700' in 7 miles earns you a good nights sleep.

Are you using Lawson glowire, or spectra, or something else on your guy outs, and hows it working for you?

I love the Lawson lines. Simple 2 half hitch and it stays tight! Easy to untie also. I like the zing it and Dutch flys for the tarp guy out to the ridge line but the corner tie outs I prefer the Lawson lines big time.

Looks like the Commissary Ridge area. Great camp spot. Was just there the weekend before. Glad you had a good trip. Water is drying up already but otherwise a great hike location.
