Hello, all.
I'm 24 and I live in Stockholm, Sweden together with my gf. I work as a lawyer (mainly insurance and litigation) and have an interest in craftsmanship and quality products made with care (everything from fountain pens and vintage straight razors to clothes and DIY stuff).
I lived in Champaign, IL during the fall of 2013 doing an exchange semester at UIUC. My view of the US and the midwest is therefore wildly romanticized and positively biased. I also roadtripped down to New Orleans and back for a week as well as two weeks in California (San Francisco to San Diego).
Me and my gf have been doing day hikes for about a year and bought a Hilleberg Nallo 2 (blasphemy!) as well as bigger backpacks, sleeping pads and she a sleeping bag and I a Cumulus 250 quilt last week. Our goal for the summer is a weeklong above-the-treeline hike on the trails in Swedish Padjelanta/Sarek.
I signed up here because I'm also interested in the mysterious concept of ultralight packing and hammocking. Going on weekend hikes with a tarp and hammock is something I want to do in the future and it's always fun to (obsessively) read up on new-found areas of interest.
