I'm 6'1 and a sym lay in my NX though I can go full sprawl in my ticket. The ticket is a more comfortable/stretchy fabric but I can't see it surviving the rigors of a thru hike the way I'd use it.
Btw, no stories of 270s on thru hikes makes sense as they came out as the last hikers were coming off the trail. Lol

Oh, worst sleep was the 2 Hennessy. Tried many nights and never found the comfort. No sweat in the Clarks or normal. Loved the features but not the hammocks when it came to the Hennessey

Can we agree we'll never all agree on the same thing at the same time? That being said I would take my NX270 on the AT. Are there videos of Clark users on the trail? I couldn't find one, however can we agree that not every hikers is a camera monkey? I like all the features the 270 offers me and if weight is a concern I would look at clothes, electronics, stoves and the list goes on! I got rid of a backpack that weighed 6# for one that's under 2#

I've a Clark Tropical with the Climashield. Use it all 4 seasons. Changed the suspension, didn't buy the Clark tarp . It's dailed in for good sleeping. Clark has solid products.

I too got rid of their suspension and went with whoopie. Did get the tarp but not to fond of it can't explain why. I use my ENO HouseFly which turns the system into a bomb shelter. Im saving for a super HouseFly from WB in the future.

I have a TX-250, which is basically same hammock as the NX-270's predecessor. I have not used it on a thru hike, as I'm primarily camping with Boy Scouts. Our backpacking trips tend to be weekend outings or car camping at times. However, it would be the hammock I'd take on an AT thru hike.

Hi all, first post, I have been using a Hennessy Explorer Deluxe for several years for motorcycle camping, and until recently I really enjoyed it. Seems like it is loosing its shape, becoming less comfortable. I am considering replacing it with a ??270. I live in the deep, very hot and humid, south and I camp when ever is weather (temp wise) to ride motorcycles. 30 f would be my coldest I would expect. Would a NX 270 be a good hammock? I have a huge Hennessy tarp I use. Are the poles easy to transport? Prone to being bent? I certainly am not concerned about the weight of any hammock system. Sorry for the disorganized questions!

I wouldn't be able to sleep down to 30f without some sort of extra insulation underneith me. Infact, I always have to have insulation underneith me no matter what time of year or if I'm using my NX-250 Clarks or other hammocks, but Scandinavia have quite cold nights even during summer.
