This looks like a good option for someone that wants to buy a smaller tarp for the summer and then add the breaks to turn it into a nice winter tarp for the cooler temps. Very cool idea.

Asked Q2 what they were looking at for them and he said that he thought they would ask $40 plus shipping charges. Good price for what your getting if you ask me.

For all the effort you have put in on this project thankyou Grizz and of course as is customary here at HF for sharing all this.
Nicely finished by q2.I never knew a relatively simple piece of sil nylon could generate so much excitment ha! hang on have to sit down.Seriously it opens up such a lot of versatility for weather protection on what seems most tarp configurations.
Loved the video nice place you filmed it, the wind and snow really set the sceme.Ahem! I won't comment on the title.
Wish I'd had a GrizzBeak on top of Cold Mountain three years ago. The wind veered almost 180 degrees that night. I rigged my mil-surplus poncho like the GrizzBeak. It made a lot of noise, but it worked.
Great video! We have an HF style developing here... cameo appearances by floating heads and floating lips, with speaking parts!

How long the coaching and how many takes, to get the kid to look up and respond as required? Me and every kid I knew would head for the high timber rather than look at and speak on camera...
Yes, that's the way I think about it too. Flexibility for a given gear set.
yeah no kidding. I've made three of these, each took me over 2 hours of work. Marking and cutting is a surprisingly time-consuming task for me. Did I mention I'm sticking with the day job?
I was lucky to be able to take advantage of the weather. Of course, here in East-Central Illinois I don't have to wait long in winter for a day with big winds!
Maybe its the influence of the season of watching "A Christmas Carol".
One shot and he didn't even know I was coming with the camera.

B/C he got them now
Great job on the design Griz! And of course, great job on the craftsmanship 2Q & ZQ!
That piece of gear will solve lots of hard ships for hammockers, adding noteable comfort & safety.
Maybe even some ground dwelling tarp users too!
I too will something make and joy in it's making
I generally like carrying smaller tarps (usually MacCat Standard)...this is a great option for multi-day trips where I might need more coverage. Plus it seals one exposed end and I'd still get good views from under the tarp and out the other end...that's important to me b/c I go into the woods to see nature, not to shut myself off from it. I like this idea, Grizz...awesome work and awesome video.
I'll give some thought to the multi-use idea. Maybe I can work it into a appropriately sized and shaped hoodless poncho or something.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
I saw bits of this vid in pre-production and have to say the final product is superb. I will say that the 'corner' wrap is a good thing and reinforces both tarp and beak. Can't believe I'm just now seeing the finished production-again abs. superb, had a bit of trouble getting home and some inadvertent snowshoeing.
