Last night I made 2 new diy items, a sap sack for the tree straps and a stake/strap organizer.

Lubbockhammockguy said "I just wish that I could make my own length of separating zippers"- ah, but you can! Look at a zipper on a jacket- the upper ends have small stoppers to prevent the tab from coming off when zipped up. Cut your zipper to length from that end. When you sew in the zipper, you need to create some sort of stopper. Fold over a scrap of grosgrain or fabric (you are making a lump that the slider can't get past) and sew to the zipper tape. On some projects you can capture the raw end of the zipper in a seam- this makes a nice finish. You can get separating zippers as long as 100" though they're the heavy variety.
Slugbait, that sounds just like a regular zipper and not a separating zipper. A separating zipper would be able to come completely a part in 2 sides and not be attached at one end. For example, a jacket zipper or a completely removable bug net.
To me, zippers are still daunting. Some day I will face this fear head on and get over it. There just seems to be so much that can go wrong! There must some official phobia that is fear of working with zippers.

Looks awesome! I also like the zippers and how it looks professional. Sewing Velcro always seems like a sewing machine killer. Then again I need to start trying some DIY projects like this. Thanks for the incentive!
