    UCR with Zing It Prusik

This is a custom order, and just wanted to get some feedback.

The Zing It is formed into a continuous loop and then built into a fixed eye on the back of the constrictor.

I need to shorten up the prusik a bit...

Not quite my cup of tea, but it's well executed. Nice job!

Hey, with bowl games around the corner, maybe you could offer UCRs in school colors. Just a thought.

Looks like maybe the UCR is getting as fool proof as the Whoopie Sling.

If it gets to the point that I can set it and forget it like I can with the Whoopie Sling, I'll consider it more seriously.

I'm forgetful and having to be concerned with loading the unloaded end I know I'll forget it. Once and then twice and then ....

    Thanks...

The ability to have 2 different colors in 1 sling is interesting.. I like it.

is the idea here to keep tension on it so it holds? If so seems better than having to tie a stopper knot.

do you have a full photo of a UCR so I can see the whole thing? thanks!

This post was my first report of a successful UCR in 7/64 AmSteel. It includes a picture. There are several others in my gallery.

I highly recommend the Whoopie Sling Suspension thread and the ones it refers to, particularly Rigging a hammock with constrictor ropes (UCRs). There's much explanation and several pictures in those threads and the galleries of the posters. You don't need to read everything, though... just skim through until you find interesting pictures and take it from there.

I know you are waiting on a weight, Ill get that asap.

It holds quite well. Once under tension, I couldnt get it to move under my own strength.

And keep in mind... the prusik isnt carrying your weight, its just backing up the tail end of the constrictor.

Attach your fixed eyes to your mounting points, adjust your length, milk the constrictor bury down and slide the prusik down.

Cool, nice job! I may have to consider trying this--it would be nice to carry less rope and if it is as secure as the whoopie, then it might be worth the effort. Can't really beat the simplicity of the whoopie, though. Yet....
