    Nacrabiners and Soft shackles

After reading numerous posts on the original thread regarding nacrabiners, I found a YouTube post last night that sent me to this web page.

    http://l-36.com/soft_shackles.php?menu=4

Lots of info from a sailors perspective regarding a tool, with a different name, I think, I will admit, that my current knowledge level may be incorrect in calling them the same.

And I am not a sailor!

Thanks for the heads up, I just found one of a couple of references to the L-36 site.
I'm quickly discovering that very little has escaped the wisdom of the HF members.

Check out this thread on different way to tie soft shackles from TacBlades

    https://hammockforums.net/forum/show...d-Soft-Shackle

These are WAAAAAY easier to tie seem to hold just as much. I have had both my and my girlfriend's hammock hanging on the same shackle made this way and had no problems (and I'm not a small person). According to the article they'll hold 240% of the original rope.

Tacblades method above makes the soft shackle super easy to make. I've made a bunch this way and I love them!

I have a buddy who wanted soft shackles for off-road recovery use, 12,000 lb winch and such.
I got some 9/16 amsteel for a good deal and whipped these up-@200% line strength they are a measly 70,000 break strength
It was fun applying hammock Skills to other areas

Good job. Make an extra pair for attaching your hammock to your whoopie sling.
