can someone recommend a stand to use with WBBB XLC?

    hey everyone,

I have a porch that I would like to get a stand to use a hammock on. I was wondering if someone could recommend a brand stand over others. Not looking for something that is junk but not looking to spend $500 either lol. Any info would be appreciated.

This is the one I'm looking to buy. You can pick the material for the legs and top speared bar. Wood, conduit, carbon fibre, etc

+1 on this. I bought this kit and used the conduit from Home Depot and painted it. I love it, it's highly portable and sets up in about 3-5 minutes.

Tato kit for conduit. Paint the conduit whatever color you want. From the website "Weight Limit is 250 lbs with a top rail of 12 ft or less and no less than a 30 deg hang angle."

For my Ridgerunner I use a 13 foot which is a 10 foot section and a 3 foot section. For my Blackbird I use a 12 foot ridge pole.

Make your own with the brackets from tarps.com. There's a pretty long thread on here about this type of "bipod style" stand. I've got one with a 14' top rail on my porch. So far I've hung my tablecloth hammocks, Explorer UL, and Ridgerunner on there with no problems.

You should be able to buy the brackets, fence rails, and rubber feet for less than the price of the Tato brackets alone. The only problem is that there's really no rated weight limit for this DIY stand. I'm about 190 and have had the kids hop in with me. So long as you don't jump in or thrash around too hard I think it would be fine.

Galvanized pipe and painted brackets aren't the most beautiful product but they look OK. I keep planning to paint the poles and brackets but then they'll just show scrapes and dings even more. I plan to haul this around for car camping in the fall and it will get quite a beating. Maybe I'll throw on some paint then.

Thanks. I'm thinking of cutting the support poles 7 ' to leave extra room to hang a tarp and I will cut a 3' and 2' section as well and see which works best to hang my WBBB about 20" . I ordered my kit from Tatogear today!
