Being South of Milwaukee, either one would be on the way. Thanks, I'll keep them in mind.

Fingers crossed the cleanup from these terrible storms moves along quickly and, more importantly, safely in time to allow this hang to happen.

Wither way we will be doing some stretch of it. If its not fully open we will start west of the closure and go west or start way west and go east.

Thanks for the input ALOD. You are the man.

Lets see what trails are opened from here to then and we can make a plan as they open.

Everyone is welcome. We will make it work for everyone

The logistical problem is fitting in the second night because after that there's a few primitive campsites around the Cisco Lake area which is a bit too soon for my stride. Lake Owen and Porcupine Lake is just a little too far at around 16 miles for Lake Owen campground and 18 Miles for Porcupine Lake. Plus Lake Owen campground is well a campground so it sort of breaks the immersion of being on the trail. I generally just stealth camp whenever I get tired around Lake Owen but haven't encountered anything that would fit for more than one person. I always tend to hike West to East though because I can just walk out the back door and my wife will pick me up on the other end. Looking at the map now though the best way to incorporate both areas would be to start at the north boundary of the Rainbow Wilderness and make for the camp areas close to Cisco Lake. There's sort of an old resort area we are trying to get made into a campsite if the forest service approves on Cisco Lake and an informal camp area next to the Long Lake Branch creek. Then aim for Porcupine Lake the second night. Both days would run around 11 miles. The downside is it would make Sunday a short day at only 4 miles to walk out. On the plus side the Porcupine Wilderness area, while small, is just gorgeous. One of my favorite areas. Anyway that's just off the top of my head, there's several other options that could be worked on.
I speak for myself but sunday only being a short walk out would be okay by me, that way no one has to rush to pack up and get out and some of us will have a rather long ride home.

    Hey everyone.

We are about 6 weeks out so time to start figuring out who is in and who is out. No pressure if you cant commit right now but just want to get an idea.

So far we have myself, my two brothers, maybe my dad, ALifeOutdoor.

We are looking at around 10-12 miles a day.

Some people will be starting Friday morning (going up Thursday night and staying at my cabin) and some will meet along the trail on Friday at different trail heads. We will accommodate as much as possible.

Anyone is welcome to stay at our cabin Thursday night.

We will set up shuttles with vehicles before we head out.

For the poeple in southern WI, message me for my brother's phone number for car pooling options.

We can then exchange numbers for everyone so we stay in touch for traveling and time frames.

    Thanks,

    Grant
