I think I know the machine you're looking at and I would pay $100 for it. That one is very clean and probably needs nothing. It's a fair price including all the cams and accessories, especially if it doesn't need tuned up (~$75).

I have a slant machine and really like it.

Here is an odd one I picked up last Friday. It was seized up tight. I used just about a whole bottle of machine oil and its still dripping out. 1957 Vigorelli Robot ZZ/A. Apparently Vigorelli was one of the designers for Necchi. One of the Bakelite cams on the internal stack is broken off and missing a good 3D printer project. Also I like the oil ports on top.

It sews a crazy straight stitch.

Does anyone know where to get needles for a Husqvarna Viking? I have broken the ones I got with the machine on some webbing I was making some loops on. I think it was due to pushing/pulling the webbing thru rather than letting the machine move it, straight seem sticking went very well but the back and forth on the webbing didn't work so well.

Is there another needle type that I can use?

    Time to read up...http://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/ne...lassification/

Assuming you have a machine intended for home use made in the last 100 years or so, it will likely use a 15x1, 2020, 130/705H class needle (these are all the same class). Home machines typically use size 9 through 20 needles depending on thread size and material type/thickness. You will most commonly need a sharp or universal point.

For webbing, I suggest trying a size 18 sharp or a Jeans needle.

You should be able to find needles at anyplace that sells sewing supplies.

    As gmcttr says....
My Husqvarna machines - now machine, since I sold one - use standard 15x1 needles.

Thank you all for the info, I thought I had read somewhere that Vikings only took their own type of needle and when I asked at a Joannes fabric store the lady said she didn't think I could use the type they had in store. Thanks for clearing that up for me and getting me back injecting threads.
