Thanks guys. I guess I'm one of the few who uses it. To me it's quicker than picking up scissors. I love making gear, but really I hate sewing, so whatever makes it quicker, I will do. Sorry for the off topic post, proceed to brag about deals on sweet vintage machines!

Yeah so do I. Its simple but it sews like a champ. Best find Ive made at goodwill thus far.

I have a Kenmore 1802 from 1969. Sewing with the double needle is really nice.

FWIW...a double needle stitch sewn with a home machine with a single bobbin thread is a decorative stitch only, is weak and of no use in gear making.
