    The Pink Lady

I received one just like the picture above several years ago and put it in the closet. (Mine does not have the little fish) Not knowing how to sew and not fond of the color I never got around to learning how to use it.

Anyway, life is always in a state of change, and I started looking at the DIY forum here and thought why not learn.

It's a Singer Merritt 2404 and I've been having to learn how to thread it and use from Youtube video's.

I hope over the next year to make the following with it.

    1. Hammock
    2. Tarp Doors
    3. Mod 4 on my HH
    4. BugNet Sock
    5. Sock
    6. UQ
    7. Bishop Bag
    8. Tarp (2 Materials Cuban & Silnylon)
    9. TQ
    10. Down Hat

I put them in the order which I though would be the easiest to start working on 1st and go from there.

Mac's 226 is the better machine by far. I slowed down the machine with a small motor pulley, and have an extra 220 3 phase. I stole this one for 80 bucks complete with 200 needles, 40 bobbins, and a full set of stainless presser feet. With the 3.5 inch pulley on the 110 motor, it is WAY too fast. Right after I shot this pic, the singer simple died doing bartacks on webbing and cordura. I got it going again, that machine just won't die.

I won a lot of boxes of junk from an estate auction. Upon searching the boxes, I found this beauty. The thing was, I only paid $5.00 for the entire lot and there were some other keepers in there as well.

I bought this on ebay for around $70.00. It is a Singer Redeye Model 66 made in 1920. The base was busted in shipping so I made a new one.
Just made a stuff sack today to practice since I have never sewed before in my life. The machine works great, all metal gears and smooth as silk.

Two Machines at a yard sale

I went yard saling this weekend and got a Singer 9410G and A Sears Kenmore Model 158.13160. No pics yet. Paid $25 for both. Gotta love those yard sales.

A lady at my church is meeting me to check oth the machines and to teach me how to use them. Sewing 101 in the social hall tonight. I hope to get a sewing group together with other ladies from the church, and I may turn it into a hammaock gear sew-athon. Yeahaa....
