Any ideas on how to best clean this guy up w/o removing any more of the original finish?
I guess I'll just use it for decoration. It's got to many missing parts & rust to sell for an antique I guess
I too will something make and joy in it's making

    my antique White

Thought I would add mine to the list since I didn't see one like it yet--my old White handed down from my grandmother. IMHO one of the best things a person can teach their grandson!

Also a pic of some of my work (although most of it is handsewn for period correctness)--I do Revolutionary War reenacting when I'm not backpacking.

As many times as I've talked about how much I love vintage sewing machines, Jess has been holding out until today. I was talking about the old ornate Singers and how much I love them. She says "Did you not notice the machine in the utility room?" I said "Huh?", she said "Yeah, there is a beautiful machine in the utility room.".

Check this baby out! MINE ALL MINE! it needs some work to get it running and converted to motor though.

Can't believe she's been holding out on me all this time.

That is really AWESOME! I love the designs on it and even if you couldn't get it to work it would still be cool to have as a decoration. Can you take a better picture of that creature on the top right. It looks kind of like a Griffin, but not sure. Thanks for posting man.

It's a Sphinx! A little cleaning would bring it right out. Was hard to get a good pic as the flash washes it out too much, so I put my finger over the flash to get one this good.

I was thinking a Sphinx too, but I thought they didn't have wings. That is such a cool machine. Thanks for taking the picture man.

I'm aggressive when I find something I want. I saw one on a Singer website, and the search began, I found one fairly local at an excellent price, just waiting on more info from the seller.

My next hunt is a vintage Husqvarna Viking.

I just did a fast search on Craigslist in your area, and these turned up!
