    Sparrow customizing questions

When playing with the options for the accessories there is one for changing the zipper hood for $5.00. I'm frankly not sure which part that is and the corresponding pics aren't labeled. Is the hood the normally black rubber piece at the end of the zipper that you grasp or are they the two upper ends on the hammock itself? (The 2 red spots on the dark hammock on the cover page).

I will assume the double-layer hammock will only be as wide as the narrower fabric minus the hem. IE I could spec the bottom to be 70" wide Xl and pay the extra but if I did an interior that is only 60" fabric I'm wasting the money. I wish they were all a simple 70" as it plays havoc with the colors and goal of nice soft interior. At least the 1.0 Robic is wide but I'm getting the impression it is also very fragile. I have a feeling those are simply the sizes the materiel bolts are manufactured in?

(and give or take the pulls I keep coming up with $429 or $434 but hey, totally custom!)

The zipper hoods are the small triangle shaped pieces of fabric at each end of the hammock. Here's a woodland camo hammock from last week having blaze orange zipper hoods.

In a double layer hammock, the two layers are trimmed to the same width. Choosing a wider fabric for only one of the two layers wouldn't end up gaining you any width because we would end up having to cut it down narrower.

The 1.0oz Robic makes a great fabric for an inside layer. Not quite the silky soft feel of the HyperD, but still a nice feel and the 68" width allows us to preserve more width when used with a wider fabric as the outside layer.

    Thanks
    Randy

One more question, between the sparrow and the thunderbird it looks like the biggest difference is the zippers. Am I missing something else?

The different zipper configuration on the Sparrow means that you can lay with your head at either end while the ThunderBird has a dedicated head and foot end. Also the Sparrow comes standard with a vent on one end of the overcover while it's an optional add-on for the ThunderBird.

Thanks again! Now the hardest part... Fabric textures vs colors. Lol
