    Hello from WA

    Hello.

My name is Christian. I'm someone who enjoys backpacking immensely. Me and my partner have a small two person tent that we use currently. There are some trips where she might not join me, however, and I'm using this opportunity to research a new sleep system. If I were to buy a single person small tent anyways might as well look into hammocks! There is a lot of great information here and I'm excited to enter into the world of hanging.

    Thanks everyone,

    Christian

Hello and welcome to the forums from Marietta GA.

Your partner should consider a hammock as well. MUCH more comfortable.

    Happy hanging!

Thanks for the welcome. I have some stuff on order to make my first hammock. I'm excited to get out and try it once I have it made. Hopefully some comfort can be found by this penny pincher.

That is great. There are myriad resources online detailing your choices and procedures for making your own camping hammock, including dozens of good threads here in the HF Do-It-Yourself forum.

Have you decided on the specifications for the hammock you intend to build?

I plan on following the directions found here.

UPS tracking shows tablecloths are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. A few other supplies to pick up around town, I'm hoping to get the hammock together by the end of the weekend time permitting!
