I never liked the coverage of the old school (normal width fabric) asym tarp, but this has really got possibilities. I'll probably break down and buy some fabric to play with. I'm not sure I want a 12' ridgeline since I seem to find trees that are a little close more often than I find the perfect distance. I look forward to seeing your designs at MAHHA.

So.. What if we double it up? Ten feet then 2 pieces together with a good reinforced and sealed ridgeline? Palaces are nice but Castles could be awesome! It might make a great hot-tent foundation to boot.

Just got my Xenon Wide in yesterday with all the other mats to get my Asym tarp going. This weekend I will be putting it all together, and hopefully getting some pictures up to show everybody how it turned out. I do have a little concern with the sag/stretch on the bias, but it does seem to have a bit less stretch that silnylon does, on the bias. I don't see much on the material, but was curious if this material has a right side for pointing outward from my hammock. It appears there is a shinier side, but could not find any info on this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you double it up then you're missing the point. Dutch's reason for making this tarp was to have a minimalist-style weight-saving tarp while still having good coverage. An asym tarp doubled up is a hex tarp... plenty of people already make those.

Atlas, I was thinking of it in terms of doubling the much wider fabric for an even bigger shelter.

Very interested in this tarp. Would love to see it for sale on Dutchware. I really love the way you can go into storm mode by switching the Stingerz attachment point. Very cool!

Got the Xenon Wide tarp finished on Saturday, and am very happy with it. Not sure if it will work with the specific hammock that I have (Blackbird XLC) because of the added shelf, and pull out netting on the entrance side, which makes the overall width wider than a conventional hammock. The images that follow this are of the tarp setup in a standard rectangle due to the lack of coverage in asymmetrical mode. I did not take these photos so I do not yet have close ups of any of the tie outs, or ridgeline points, but this will give everyone an idea of how it turned out. BTW, first time tarp maker here.IMG_3352.jpgIMG_3353.jpgIMG_3354.jpgIMG_3355.jpgIMG_3357.jpg
