If it works or just needs a good clean and oil go with it. they can usually sew anything you can get under the presser foot. Great for packs , heavy canvas, denim and webbing too!

If I was giving advice I'd recommend buying one of these old girls (my apologies to the real old girls) from a repair shop that got one for free and is selling it to recoup the labour and parts cost. antique places usually just want the old Singer cabinets as the machines don't have a lot of antique value. Singer and others made millions of them!

If you are just going to sew a bit thin nylon you could get away with new style, new or gently used machine.

Anybody have any thoughts to share on this thread injector? I know nothing other than this description..."Great for sewing denim and heavier fabrics. Has straight and zigzag stitches, plus stretch stitching for knits."

With the exception of webbing for tree straps... Your going to be sewing really light weight material... I would be more concerned with a machines performance in that regard...

My guess would be that it will sew most canvas's and garment leather. I wouldn't bet on it sewing really thick leather (saddle) or heavy canvas well. Typically folks use machines with walking feet to stitch those materials. The Kenmore machines were mostly rebadged White machines until the late 50's. The model you are looking at appears to be vintage 60's -70's. You might want to read more at this site...
