I grew up in the desert of Vegas, and now live in Salt Lake City and work in Law Enforcement.
The outdoors here are an absolute dream and I love this forum for all the useful advice and friendly network.
I have developed some back issues and game hammocks a try and am never gunna go back to a tent. I also try to pack relatively lightweight to help my back. I know a lot about gear but the hammock world is still new. Hopefully I can help and be helped appropriately. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, NoviceNorth, from another former Vegas-ite (or is it Vegan? I hope not; I like my tasty dead animal!), now Utahn. I left Vegas in 1980, probably a little before you did. I'm also only a recent hammock camper, and don't want to get back on the ground ever again.
Welcome! By age 40 my knees and hips couldn't take sleeping on the ground anymore. Camping was over...until I discovered hammock systems. Now I am back to regular camping. Enjoy.
