    cool. thanks!

@SilvrSurfr, I don't mind. I'm glad to help out and wanted to keep it a pure HF thing. Can't have interlopers in our affairs. Looking forward to seeing these legendary Pine Barrens and meeting everyone. I've been reading the stories and watching the videos of the jersey folks for over a year now!! I'm doin my polar vortex dance. Maybe we'll get a nice cold snap for that weekend. After watching your video site 6 seems a bit thin on good hang spots. 4 maybe 5 if someone hangs on the right side against the tree line. we'll work it out as we go though. all good.

You have to go out and around to get there, so it's probably a touch over a half an hour each way (25 miles or so) if your going from Batona.

Or rather Batsto is about 30 minutes further South than Batona.

George said he would bring three hammock stands so I think site 6 will be okay.

For me on the Jersey Shore, it's quickest to take the Garden State Parkway to exit 52, then follow the signs to Batsto Village and pick up the permit. Then you can take 206 North to Batona Camp.

Folks you can print your reservation and have that handy if anyone drops by to inspect "paperwork".

This is the method used by people, me, when you don't make it to the Office before closing but want to have something to identify that you did indeed reserve the site. Usually goes something like this, "Officer, I was late getting to camp, here's my reservation, I'll drop by the office tomorrow to get site tag." or if someone is in your camp when you arrive, claiming they called Reserve America (b.s.), you can say "oh no you didn't...here's my reservation, time to move along".

Mostly they want to tell you the Fire Regs of the day and daily updates (e.g. rabid squirrels) in person.

The last time a Ranger asked to see my site tag was...never.

On our June Boy Scout trip to Bodine field, the Batsto office gave me a lot of push back, but worked with me, when I picked up permits for our campsites. I was wearing a Boy Scout uniform. They made me provide license plate number, make and model for all cars we had parked at camp. The Park Police drove through several times that weekend - didn't slow down enough to read permits or plates. I really do wish they would drop the check in at the office business.

We do have neighbors in site 12. I hope they're friendly. Or at least tolerant.

I have never been to the office and it's been quite a few years since i camped at the campsite, i really dont want to drive the extra half hour both ways so i will just bring my print out.
However if someone would like to volunteer to take everyones permit and info and give that a try i will chip in for thier gas and we can all pm that person our tag and res numbers and info.

    Anybody?????
