Eagle Cap Wilderness (Eastern Oregon, don't tell anyone about it)

4 Days, 30 Mile Loop, Pure Bliss. This was my first trip that wasn't a quick there and back overnighter. It was gorgeous and I learned a lot about my gear and making camp, etc., that I couldn't learn on the quick trips. I did go to ground the second night just to see how it went. Then, I went to ground the third night after I realized I had left my straps on trees nearly 20 miles back The things you learn....

Thanks for getting me this far everyone! Probably wouldn't have gotten so excited about backpacking and getting outdoors a few years back if it wasn't for the hammock community.

    Looks like a beautiful area!

Tree straps are easily replaceable, but you will never get the sleep you lost back! Hard learned lessons are best remembered!

    Thanks for sharing!

My Dad took me and my brother into the Eagle Cap Wilderness when I was a kid. Beautiful area. It's been almost 40 years since I was there. Maybe it's time to go back.
